JunnyGirl who?

Born in Siknikt in Mi’kma’ki, Raven hails from the Elsipogtog and is a proud member of the Algwimu (loon) clan. Raven Algwimu is a L’nu mother, Indigenous artist, and admired advocate for Mi’kmaq Land and Treaty rights in Kanata.

Together with fellow land defenders, she dedicates herself to establishing nurturing environments for Indigenous communities continent-wide, actively addressing the enduring effects of colonialism and sharing her life story.

Raven, a graduate of NBCCD, pursued Indigenous arts with a focus on traditional Quillwork Art. Raised in an artistic environment, she broadened her talents into graphic design, turning her creations into inclusive stickers and clothing for all to appreciate. Through JunnyGirl, she not only showcases her distinctive custom designs but also navigates the challenges of settler colonial society as an Indigenous individual.
